Mountain Lake Hike

Obertschappina - Pascuminsee - Herden, 33/4 h
|

Beautiful daytour with the possibility to take a quick bath in our wonderful mountain lakes. The way leads from Obertschappina, 1.577m via the old glass way to the Glaspass, then take a right over theBruchalp to the former Luesch lake and to Lueschalp. Continue via the Alpway to Bischolpass, 1.999m. Down to Pascumin lake, which you pass on the left. Then continue to Oberrascheins and via Oberurmein to Urmein or Flerden, 1.230 m.

High-Buel Mountain Hike

Glaspass - Hoch Buel – Glaspass, 11/2 h
|

That’s an easy half day tour with a beautiful suround view. Start from the parking lot at Glaspass, 1.846m into direction Southeast along the Heidbuel to Alp Obermasuegg. At Hohenegg take a right up to the upper Alp cottage and continue via Alp meadows up to the plateau of Hoch Buel, 2.107m. Outstanding suround view. Decline via the Beverin trail towards West and reach location Usserglas/Glaspass.

Torrent Hike

Urmein – Thusis, 2¼ h
|
|
Interesting half day tour, specifically if you are looking for minerals along the torrent of Nolla. Start at the church of Urmein, 1.253m through the village down, then take a right first via the stone road, then pass the meadows, continue through the alder forest to the Rofla ground, 1.159m. Then decline left via the old wood way through the alder forest down to the Nolla torrent ground, 969m. Continue on the left bank of the torrent down to Thusis, 700 m.

Pass Hike

Obertschappina - Glaspass - Safien - Bischolpass – Flerden, 6½ h
|
|
This tour leads over two very old passes, that were used in the past for trading and support of the Safien valley. This is a daytour and requires a good condition and professional hiking shoes. Start at Obertschappina, 1.577m via the old Glasrway to the Glaspass, 1.846m. Then take the road passing the village Usserglas and continue to lnnerglas. Steep decline via the old transportation route to Safien Platz. From here you may either take the postbus or train via Versam - Reichenau -Thusis to return, or you may continue your trail on the valley road to Safien Rueti, 1.277m. Leave here the road and turn right, cross the river and go up via Maedelti to the Bischolpass, 1.999m. Pass lake Bischola and lake Pascumin on the left and decline via the old Alpway to Oberrascheins, Oberurmein, Flerden, 1.230m.

Alpine Hiking Tour Piz Beverin

Glaspass - Piz Beverin – Mathon, 5½ h
|
|
This is a high level hiking tour, only for people with experience and good condition. Professional shoes and appropriate hiking equipment for alpine hiking tours is prerequisite. Start at, 1.846m to Hochbuel. Then in steep turns up to the Chraejen heads, cross the steep West flange of the mountain up to the gap. Beyond the gap you will reach the Beverinway, who leads to Val Schons valley. Now follow the shoulder of Beverin mountain which accelerates slowly to the top, 2.998m. Decline via the Beverin Pintg.
Caution: To reach the top you must climb a 10m metal leader to cross a steep rock wall. Decline via Alp meadows towards Maiensaessen of Mursenas to Mathon, 1.527m. From Mathon you can return by post bus to Zillis and Thusis.

Heinzenberg Crest Hike

Obertschappina - Tguma – Praez, 53/4 h
|

This day tour is well known as one of the best and most beautiful tours around Heinzenberg mountain, with a magnificent view down into the Domleschg and Safien valley. From Obertschappina, 1.577m to Glaspass, then follow the Alp fence to Glasergrat, 2.134m, Decline to the Valdiena-Lucka and via the cattle trail to Lueschalp, 1.977m. Continue via the Alpway to Bischolpass and to Bischol cottage. Then go up the old trail to Tguma, 2.163m. Continue via the Heinzenberg crest up to the Praezer Hoehi. Decline to Alp Gronda and the road or the trail to Praez, 1.184m.
